Yoga for Sitting

Preparing your body for easeful, wakeful sitting is a great gift to your meditation practice. By engaging with curiosity and openness to possibilities, you can discover and cultivate strength, flexibility and freedom within your right-now body. If you struggle with pain or stiffness while sitting, or if you are curious about physical experiences related to your sitting practice, come learn how to gently coax your body into the kindest possible posture for stillness, contentment and insight.

Important logistics:

  • Guided practice during each session will be video-recorded; no other portion of the sessions will be recorded. You will have access to the guided practice video-recordings for the week following each session. It's best if you can commit to practicing 2-3 times with the recording between sessions.
  • You will receive an email before the workshop with more information on how to prepare and what to bring.

During this workshop you will—

  • Explore and move your whole body, systematically and wisely
  • Identify sitting-related challenges with your body and begin to work with those challenges
  • Practice sitting still with a fresh perspective
  • Cultivate curiosity and equanimity around "problem" aspects of your body
  • Option: briefly meet with the teacher 1:1 to explore your unique challenges

Required Technology and Preparation:

  • High-speed internet connection

  • Please, no phones

  • Join on a computer that has a full-sized screen on which you can see at least 25 Zoom participants, without having to scroll

  • Ensure that your computer is situated on a stable surface (instead of resting on your lap, etc.)

  • Video and microphone capability (so that you can be seen and heard)

  • A place for practice that allows for being undisturbed

  • Current version of Zoom installed

Once you have paid, your slot is reserved. You will receive a separate email with the Zoom information you need to join the sessions.

Note: To reserve a slot for additional participants in your household, please submit payment for the additional person(s) by going through the checkout process for each of them.

You do not need a PayPal or Stripe account in order to use your credit or debit card to make your payment.

You will be asked to provide your phone number during the payment process—this is so that we can contact you should there be any changes to the course schedule, etc.

If you receive the "Item Sold Out" message during registration, it means that the class is full. You may request to be placed on a waiting list by sending an email to info@eastcoastmindfulness.com (please include your name and phone number). You will be contacted if an opening becomes available and can register at that time.

NOTE: payment confirmation and all subsequent email correspondence will be sent to the email address that you provide during checkout.

REFUND POLICY:
You may receive a full refund if you notify us via email (info@eastcoastmindfulness.com) at least 7 days before the program begins. No refunds will be granted thereafter.
