Yarne from Afar: A FREE Worldwide Remote Retreat
January 10 - March 4, 2022

On January 10, 2022, the monastics at Gampo Abbey and a few lay practitioners will enter a deep retreat period known as Yarne. While few people can join this retreat live, the number of people who can join via the heart connection of daily practice is unlimited. Will you join this gathering as a remote meditator?

The focus of this year’s Yarne retreat will be the Lojong Slogans. Remote meditators will receive the same reading assignments that those attending Yarne receive, in case you’d like to read and study, as well as the schedule of retreat practice.

Your Commitment to Those on Retreat at Gampo Abbey

Beyond sending your photograph, please prepare to practice on your own for at least 30 minutes each day. If you can arrange for your daily practice to take place during a practice period of the Yarne retreat, great. If that’s not possible, simply knowing you will be practicing daily with an intention to connect with those of us attending retreat in person is great too.

Gampo Abbey Retreatants’ Commitment to You

  1. Before year’s end you will receive reading assignments and the practice schedule those at Gampo Abbey will be following during retreat.

  1. The monastics and lay practitioners will hold you in their heart space every day of the retreat as they practice.

  1. You will receive a weekly email during the retreat with an update on how the week is going (what they’re studying, experiencing, and so on). This email will be sent to the email address you used to send your photo.

  1. Two senior students of Pema Chödrön, Rebecca Eldridge and Ani Samten Chödrön, will offer one live Zoom session during the retreat: we can’t set the date and time for this yet, but will let you know by email once the date and time is set.
